(RDS) - La centrale de recrutement de Ligue nationale de hockey a publié son relevé de mi-saison des meilleurs espoirs en vue de la séance de sélection de juin prochain qui aura lieu à Vancouver.

À la surprise générale, l'Américain Phil Kessel a été devancé au premier rang par son compatriote Erik Johnson, un défenseur de 17 ans, qui a joué pour les États-Unis lors du dernier championnat mondial junior.

Kessel se retrouve 2e devant le Franco-Manitobain Jonathan Toews.

Chez les gardiens de but, c'est le Québécois Jonathan Bernier des MAINEiacs de Lewsiton qui figure au tout premier rang.

On compte cinq joueurs de la Ligue junior majeur du Québec parmi les 31 premiers espoirs.
